Friends of Akaroa Museum

The Friends of Akaroa Museum (FOAM) would like to thank you for purchasing a ticket to the Inside Out Akaroa House and Garden Tour. FOAM is a membership organisation dedicated to assisting the support and development of the Akaroa Museum.
We generate funds through community initiatives such as the bi-annual Inside Out Akaroa House & Garden tour and the Antique Fair held every New Year.

Your ticket purchase will help us to:

  • assist with the acquisition of items for the Museum collection

  • support restoration projects

  • support the production of special publications

Akaroa Museum is focused on the history of Banks Peninsula. Its varied collections include archives, art, photography, costume and textiles, taonga, and technology. We can provide research services and access to our extensive collection. The Museum is open 363 days a year. Akaroa Museum was established in 1964 around the historic Langlois-Eteveneaux cottage, a rare remnant of the French presence in Akaroa. The Museum has since expanded to include four exhibition galleries and two additional heritage buildings, the Akaroa Court House and the Custom House.
