Trish and Andrew Moon
137 Barry's Bay Valley Road, Barry's Bay

Some may have spotted Marama in the July issue of NZ Gardener.
Set in the bush-clad hills of Barry’s Bay, Trish and Andrew Moon have transformed former paddocks and dense kanuka into a vibrant, layered woodland and hillside garden. Hydrangeas, fuchsia, ferns and rengarenga soften the shady paths, while sunlit terraces overflow with paths weaving through dahlias, roses, salvia and spring cutting flowers. Three glasshouses and a generous kitchen garden, along with Andrew’s hand-crafted steelworks add character throughout the property. From silvered decks to kanuka stake fences and sweeping borders, the garden offers a calm retreat and exuberant abundance in equal measure. A newly expanded woodland area with a planned rhododendron garden completes the loop of this evolving landscape. Thoughtful seating areas invite visitors to pause, admire the views and enjoy the garden’s changing character.

Handcrafted on the property, there will be a large selection of steel garden supports and sculptures for sale.
